Renewable Energy Bootcamp for Young Engineers (REBOOT)

2016 - Present

In partnership with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and other partner NGOs, young engineers and professionals were trained in a year-long mentorship program that taught them several types of renewable energy. The main output of this program is an idea pitch of their proposed renewable energy projects for the benefit of poor communities in Aurora, Quezon.

HEED

2017 - Present

HEED, which stands for Humanitarian Engineering, Entrepreneurship and Design, is a university-wide research & design group based in UP Diliman that aims to effectively deliver technological solutions to underserved communities.

Project Plastikan

2018

In partnership with HEED and UP Center for Women’s Studies Foundation, the project aims to provide the community in Malabon, headed by female leaders, a means to recycle their own plastic waste. Through small-scale compression-molding and injection-molding, the community would be able to produce consumer goods like tiles, bowls, and jars to the open market that will help with the financial needs of the community while reducing our plastic wastes at the same time.

SOLAR Hope

2018 - Present

SOLAR Hope, or Sustainable Outreach and Lifelong Advocacy to Rekindle Hope, is a non-government organization with the vision to develop sustainable communities and transform them into ‘beacons of hope’. Together with SOLAR Hope, EWB-UPD visits underserved communities to develop sustainable solutions through a participatory approach. Some of the communities that were visited are the Bajao community in Malitam, Batangas and Rawang, Rizal.
